PVDF syringe filters are composed of Polyvinylidene filter media and PP housing materials. PVDF membrane is naturally hydrophobic and the syringe filters are therefore recommended for air and gas filtration in life sciences lab applications, to ensure more reliable results and to help extend instruments service life. When used for handling aqueous and organic samples, the PVDF syringe filters have to be pre-wetted with alcohol, and maximum operating temperature of these PVDF syringe filters is 100 °C . Another thing worthy to mention is these syringe filters have chemical incompatibilities with DMF, DMSO, MEK, acetone and most caustic solutions >6N.
